The Department of Latina/Latino Studies would like to invite you the event "Madres que Luchan: Lorena Gutiérrez’ fight to end femicide in México" on Monday, October 13 at 2:30 p.m. in Library 121. Please share the event information with students and faculty. Lorena Gutiérrez shares her story of losing her daughter Fátima, victim of a feminicide at age 12. In spite of struggling with corruption and many obstacles, Lorena continues to fight for justice in her case and to bring about an end to gender violence in Mexico. This talk will feature a sneak-preview of an upcoming documentary film following Lorena's story.
