Critical Race Theory has a fifty-year history in the US as an important movement in legal studies to examine how racial injustice is often erased or minimized by traditional legal framing. In the current decade, Critical Race Theory is seen as a major threat to traditional narratives of American exceptionalism and liberalism. In this brief introduction by faculty from the nations First College of Ethnic Studies, we will talk about how Critical Race Theory has been employed by scholars and communities, and what it means for representing America. Panelists include Abul Pitre, Joanne, Barker, Wei Ming Dariotis, Ismael Lara, and Brbara Abada-Rexach.
