In this workshop, "poverty scholars" Leroy Moore and Lisa "Tiny" Gray-Garcia of Poor Magazine present their revolutionary childrens books, poetry and prose. They'll share teaching strategies for how to educate children, youth and adults about poverty, homelessness, racism, ableism and displacement from the perspective of those most impacted. Presented by The Poetry Center and Paul K. Longmore Institute on Disability; College of Liberal & Creative Arts; and departments of History, Africana Studies and Women and Gender Studies.
