"Free Speech on Campus": A talk with Erwin Chemerinksy

Colleges and universities are faced with the challenge of balancing an inclusive environment for all students while also protecting the right to free speech. In turn, students must also navigate the challenge of following policy and exercise their right to free speech. A nationally renowned First Amendment scholar, Erwin Chemerinsky was named the most influential person in legal education in the United States by National Jurist magazine. His talk, which will explore the topic of free speech in the higher education setting, is sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Division of Equity and Community Inclusion and Division of Student Life. 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.: Social hour and light refreshments. 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.: Lecture followed by Q&A.
