"The Myth of Black Anti-Intellectualism: A True Psychology of African American Students" A Lecture and Discussion Led by Dr. Kev

Dr. Cokely will discuss the relationships between Black racial identity and academic achievement. He will also critically engage the development of the concepts of acting White and oppositional culture as they are applied to Black youth. Dr. Cokely will also explore the Policy Implications of the myth and the true psychology of African American students, including a critical discussion of charter schools (including Afrocentric charter schools).
