Brass ensemble Purple Gums presents a master class. Purple Gums is comprised of Bobby Bradford (cornet), William Roper (tuba) and Francis Wong (saxophones). The trio's role is to carry on the tradition of making music in the moment. Charts don't exist. Rehearsals have never occurred. Ideas are generated and developed on the bandstand. Expect a tasty gumbo of jazz, free improv, ragtime and classical. ImprovisAsians! is an annual series of performances and workshops at SF State exploring the connection between the performing arts and community-building.
