MATH 107 [01] - Mathematics for Business Calculus I

Description

Prerequisite: First-Year Math Advising Module; Category III* or IV* placement for QR/Math. Introduction of the necessary business vocabulary. Review of numbers and operations, exponents and radicals, functions in general, and linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions in particular, in the context of business, finance, and economy. Introduction to the mathematics of finance: simple and compound interest, annuities, amortization.

  • "QR Category 3 or 4 students with Business majors should fulfill their Area B4 requirement by either (1) passing a one-semester MATH 110 Business Calculus or (2) taking a two-semester stretch Business Calculus (MATH 107 and 108), receiving a grade of C or better in MATH 107 and then passing MATH 108. QR Category 1 or 2 students with Business majors should take Math 110. "
  • * In-Person Classes -- Class meets in-person at scheduled days/times.

  • Must be students in Category III or IV placement for QR/Math to enroll in this course.
