DES 370 [01] - Introduction to The School of Design

Description
Prerequisites: Restricted to Design majors and minors with sophomore standing or above; or permission of the instructor. Orientation to the design major program and concentrations, to the university, to department resources, and to extracurricular opportunities. Issues and trends in design, technology, and industry will be discussed. Introduction to strategies for student success, including, but not limited to: time management, meeting deadlines, effective communication, and meeting with faculty advisors. Professional outlooks and opportunities for graduate study will also be covered. (CR/NC grading only)

- * This class is fully online. For more information, go to canvas.sfsu.edu.
- Students must make one in-person advising appointment during the semester to complete a DES contract.
- * DES 356 and DES 370 are core courses required for all classes. All Design majors must enroll in these courses.
- * Online Asynchronous Classes -- Class sessions are entirely online with no set day/time.
