Prerequisites: MATH 226 with a grade of C or better; concurrent enrollment in PHYS 222; concurrent enrollment in MATH 227 recommended. Introduction to classical mechanics, including vectors, kinematics in one & two dimensions, Newton's Laws of Motion, force & acceleration, linear momentum & impulse, work & kinetic energy, potential energy & conservation of energy, elastic & inelastic collisions, torque & angular momentum, static equilibrium, fixed-axis rotational dynamics, oscillatory motion, gravitation & planetary motion.
