MATH 197 [02] - Prelude to Calculus I

Description

Prerequisite: First-Year Math Advising Module. For students who want to take pre-calculus with additional support. Review of numbers and operations, exponents, and radicals. Linear, quadratic, polynomial, and rational functions. Exponential growth and exponential functions. Logarithmic functions. The transcendental number e and natural logarithms. The first semester of a year-long stretch pre-calculus course.

Class Notes

  • Students who wish to fulfill Area B4 requirement by taking the two-semester stretch Precalculus must receive a grade of C or better and then pass MATH 198, A Prelude to Calculus II.
  • * In-Person Classes -- Class meets in-person at scheduled days/times.

Enrollment Requirements

  • Must be students in Category III or IV placement for QR/Math to enroll in this course.
