Dr. Karen Chapple, the director of the School of Cities and professor of geography and planning at the University of Toronto, will discuss the impact that policy intended to increase affordable housing production has on gentrification. Discussion and understanding of the problem of displacement and gentrification can aid in our attempts to combat the growing housing inequities in the U.S., particularly in California.
