Redemption Trail, a modern western written and directed in 2013 by Britta Sjogren, director of the SF State School of Cinema, will have a free screening for students at 4 p.m. on May 6 in the Coppola Theater, FA 101. Sjogren will discuss the film in cinema professor Joseph McBrides course on women in the western. Redemption Trail stars LisaGay Hamilton as a rugged northern Californian vineyard owner whose father is a murdered Black Panther. Hamilton makes an alliance with a troubled young woman (Lily Rabe), and together they battle the forces of reaction and violence.
