Concert: SF State Experimental Music Ensemble Presents the Music of Hans Tammen

Composer and guitarist Hans Tammen joins San Francisco State University's Experimental Music Ensemble to perform works by Tammen and student composers. Tammen likes to set sounds in motion and then sit back to watch the movements unfold. Unsettling, frantic and anti-sentimental, he fuses unremitting polyrhythmic machinations with ethereal yet roughly sewn soundscapes, "a unique, immediate, visceral and engaging musical experience," Irwin Block of Avant Music News writes.
