Musical theatre: Dreamgirls

"Dreamgirls in Concert" is the concert version of the famed 1982 multiple Tony Award-winning stage musical, "Dreamgirls." It features all of the hit songs and is based on the story of a 1960s Detroit rhythm-and-blues female vocal trio and their rise to fame and fortune. The singing cast features students and staff with the vocal talent and coaching of "Beach Blanket Babylon" star and faculty member Renee Lubin as "Effie." Dee Spencer, musical director. This event is a fundraiser for the School of Theatre and Dance in support of musical theatre productions.
