Ifetayo Flannery gives a biographical review of Shakur, her perspectives on political agency for people of African descent and her work dedicated to "consciousness" in the African diaspora .Most importantly, the urgency and contemporary relevance of Shakur's message to Africans in diaspora will be explored in tandem with the political shifts in the U.S. today.
