This symposium honors the 20th anniversary of black lesbian filmmaker and SFSU Cinema Studies professor Cheryl Dunye's "The Watermelon Woman." Join us for this two-day event featuring a black feminist and queer film festival, artist and scholar panels, readings by black gay and lesbian authors, and a keynote conversation with filmmaker Dee Rees ("Pariah," 2011, and "Bessie," 2015).
