Jimi (English name: Jimmy Liao) is Taiwan's most renowned childrens book author and illustrator. He is the author of more than 40 books, and his work adorns Taiwanese postal stamps and subway cards. More recently, Jimis status as one of the countrys most beloved artists was paid homage to when the Nangang subway station in Taipei was entirely decorated with images from his books. While his many books by way of their colorful illustrations or monochrome drawings take the reader on magical journeys through marvelous dreamscapes, his work also probes into themes of urban alienation, friendship and our own mortality.
