The Intertribal Ensemble plays creative improvised music influenced by the lived experiences of its members in performance, education and community activism. For this performance the ensemble will perform as a trio featuring Jimmy Biala (drum set, percussion, voice), Masaru Koga (saxophones, flute, shakuhachi) and John-Carlos Perea (electric bass, Native American flute, voice). ImprovisAsians! is an annual series of performances and workshops at SF State exploring the connection between the performing arts and community-building.
