Prerequisite: Not open to students who have completed ERTH 170 or ERTH 171. Investigate components and operating principles of the ocean system, including ocean basin features, currents, nutrient cycling, and climatic influences, emphasizing the process of scientific discovery. Designed for non-science majors. Lecture, 3 units; laboratory and fieldwork, 1 unit. Extra fee required.
