Prerequisites: Successful completion of GE Areas A1, A2, A3, and B4 or consent of the instructor. Ethical issues in medicine and nursing: treating dying patients, the right to health care, nurse/physician conflicts, health and basic values, freedom under new technology, and medical bureaucracy. Use of philosophical approaches to understand and to help resolve these problems. [CSL may be available]
